چکیده

The reaction time-based Concealed Information Test (RT-CIT) can be used to detect information a suspect wishes conceal. While it is often argued that easily faked, empirical research on its vulnerability faking scarce. In three experiments, we tested whether receiving instructions enables guilty participants fake an innocent test outcome in RT-CIT. Experiment 1, when not using response deadline, found the RT-CIT vulnerable (d = 1.06). 2 showed was ineffective ?0.25). Critically, 3 replicated these findings within one between-subject design, showing again effect no deadline 1.08) vanished with use of ?0.56). By providing suggestions for development detection algorithm, hope stimulate further this area.

Is the implicit association test immune to faking?

One of the main advantages of measures of automatic cognition is supposed to be that they are less susceptible to faking than explicit tests. It is an empirical question, however, to what degree these measures can be faked, and the response might well differ for different measures.
